The problem

Guesthouses on local islands rely on booking sites that take a cut of every stay, and guests can't easily check dates and real prices with the guesthouse itself.

What we added

Direct booking on a calendar that shows which nights are free and what each one costs, then an itemised quote with every tax, so a stay is booked in a couple of minutes.

01Brief

Driftwood is a twelve-room guesthouse on Maafushi, a local island south of Malé. Its site has to make people want to stay, answer the practical questions about transfers and island rules, and turn that interest into a direct booking.

02Approach

Layout
A lookbook more than a brochure: full-bleed photography, generous space, and each room type set out like a magazine spread, with the booking bar always close by.
Typography
Cormorant Garamond at a light weight for headlines, with Jost in small spaced capitals for labels, buttons and prices. Thin, calm and easy to scan.
Colour
Cream, sand and espresso, with a scale of warm tints that marks the four seasons on the rate calendar. Square buttons and sharp corners throughout.
Interaction
A four-step booking flow, an availability calendar priced by season, trips that add straight to a stay, and an island map that shows walking times from the house.

03Result

Every page a guest needs, from a page for each room type to transfers and FAQs, and a booking flow that goes from dates to an itemised quote before asking for any details.
